Warm up with a bowl of creamy cabbage soup.

Ingredients

  • 10 cups cabbage, chopped
  • 1/3 cup celery, chopped
  • 1/4 cup leeks, chopped
  • 1 cup chicken broth, homemade
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 4 cups milk
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 slices bacon, ham or pork belly (optional)

Directions

  • Simmer cabbage, celery, leek, and salt in the broth for about 10 minutes.
  • Mix the milk and flour and to a boil and then add the milk mixture to the cabbage mixture.
  • Optional: add a clean bacon, pork belly, or ham for a smoky and full flavor.
