Thoughts from Low-sal-life

This is probably one of the cleanest bacons out there. I like this product because there are no sugars added. Often, honey is used as a sweetener which is high in salicylates. Also, the applewood smoke doesn't bother me. It is also free of added nitrates/nitrites.

As for bacon, this one is really meaty/leathery, so if you prefer a crispier bacon, I prefer the ones done in sugar - which does affect the texture a little.

Pork, Water, Sea Salt, Celery Power

Where to find it

  • I've found these off and on in a larger pack at WinCo foods (Western US)
  • I find the smaller packs at Fred Meyer/QFC (Kroger stores)
  • Costco is the best place to find these consistently.

Low risk

⚠ Notes/Caution

It does use celery powder, which tested high in Swain's 1985 test, but I think because of low quantity, it still has a low salicylate level overall.
