Thoughts from Low-sal-life

This is my everyday lipstick.

I would never have tried this lipstick because of the castor and jojoba oils. However, I tried it because it was recommend by Joan Ablahani, the author of Salicylate Intolerance and The Healthier I Ate The Sicker I Got. This is a great lipstick that does not cause me an allergic reaction. It does not smell. I like that it doesn't have cocoa butter because I don't like the chocolate smell on my lips.

I have a fair skin tone with a warm undertone and high contrast, so I look best in oranges, yellows, and brighter colors. My favorite shade is the Scarlet Fire, which is peachy pink and increases in intensity with extra coats.  Cayenne is a little too orange for my liking, but the pigments are amazing. I find I can put it on, wipe it off, and I have the perfect amount of orange added to my lips. Sometimes, I'll use it under another red to warm it up. Red Earth is a very mature brick red I use at the office when wearing darker shades like navy or maroon. Red Zin is a bit purply, and Black Cherry is more brown (in my mind, those should have swapped names).

Colorganics also has glosses and liners.

⚠ Notes/Caution

I would consider hemp, jojoba, and castor oils as potentially salicylate-containing oils. Some low-sal/amine sensitive folks have tried these, and it didn't work for them. I haven't had an issue, but my skin isn't terribly sensitive with contact reactions.
