Thoughts from Low-sal-life

A whole grain, breakfast cereal. I've got the MTHFR gene (separate from salicylate issue) that affects the way I process B-vitamins which ends up being a trigger for me causing migraines so I always look for cereals and substitute milks without added vitamins.

Eat with milk, or make a crunchy granola with it. Don't forget that marshmallows are also low in salicylates if you want to make a crispy marshmallow bar!

⚠ Notes/Caution

Brown rice tests a little bit higher than white rice. RPAH still lists it as low and well tolerated. Malakar et al. (2017) tested it as a medium level when including the bound salicylates (about the same as leeks, and a little higher than oats).
