I'd like to host a few Zoom meetings over the next few weeks, where we can meet others in the community and build out some resources for the site. We'll give it a try and see how it works out! This is not a webinar or live stream - which means we can see each other and interact with each other. After we work on a topic, we can open it up to just visiting and general questions. My Zoom subscription limits out at 100 people. Times are listed in Pacific Time (Los Angeles, CA, USA).

If you're unable to make it to a workshop but still want to participate - please send me your ideas to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

Workshop 1 - Building out the Ultimate Low-Salicylate Snack List!

Inspired by an infographic I saw with a snack list of 50 items (!!!) for some diet, I wondered if that was even possible for low-sal. Obviously, I can't do it on my own, as I probably have 10 go-to snacks I use. Please come with a list of your favorites to share. If you have pictures or links to recipes, that would be helpful too. I'll compile our items together into an infographic, shareable pic, or printable. If you recommend hummus, let's say, please bring your recipe for hummus or what brand you use.

When: Feb 27, 2021 05:00 PM Pacific Time (US and Canada)
(GMT  -8:00, or Sunday Feb 28, at 12PM Sydney)

This workshop is over.

Workshop 2 - Building out the Products Directory - bring your cosmetics, cleaners, prepared foods, etc

I'd love to have the directory with hundreds of usable products in it for new people to come in and find safe alternatives. If you've noticed things missing in the directory, bring a link. Products worldwide are welcome. I can usually find a manufacturer's photos of the product to upload, but sometimes there is variation worldwide. If you have the product and a picture of the ingredients on the back, that's ideal so we all know we're talking about the same item. Phone pics with natural lighting are usually good enough.

Workshop 3 - Building out the Recipe Database

There are a few good low-salicylate recipe books out there - but they aren't free. Imagine if we could make a huge directory of delicious (and maybe even pretty-looking) food for anyone to find and use? That's my hope at least, and with other low-sal friends I think we can make this happen! The way this meeting format will take place, is we'll talk about some of our most important go-to foods. Like is there a recipe on how to cook a chicken from scratch? How to make rice? How to make potato chowder? If there are no links to other recipes, each participant can offer to write a recipe and make the dish (taking photos) and submit it at a later time for me to post. If there are links to similar safe recipes online, you can share your link and I'll upload the recipe (or sal-safe version). Then all I'll need is a photo at some point, so I hope someone will offer to take one and send it in. These recipes will take time to upload, but knowing which ones you want up will take out some of my brain-time and speed things up.

When: March 13, 2021 09:00 AM Pacific Time (US and Canada)  MORNING
(GMT  -8:00, or Sunday Feb 28, at 12PM Sydney)

This workshop is over.

Workshop 4 - Building out a "Get Started Menu/Food Plan"

Having a meal plan when starting out on a low-sal journey would be amazing! Let's make some! Obviously it would be great to have enough food options to make a few different menus like a normal menu, gluten-free menu, GF/Dairy free menu. I'd like to build out 1 week's worth of meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack. Then put the ingredients you'd need in the side column for easy shopping. This would be targeted for new people who just need to grab a plan and not think about every little thing. Realistically, I think we should focus on 1 plan (normal).

There is a template here, so if you're amine sensitive too, gluten free, dairy-free, FODMAPS, or vegetarian, you can work on it partially, and that may help up get more than one plan done. Make sure you download and save a copy of the template- as that saved pdf is what you'll be sharing.

When: March 20, 2021 09:00 AM Pacific Time (US and Canada)   MORNING
(GMT  -8:00, or Sunday Feb 28, at 12PM Sydney)

This workshop is over.
